I have received my B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Computer Engineering from Middle East Technical University (METU), Turkey in 2010 and 2013, respectively. During my M.Sc. studies, I actively worked as a researcher in a remote sensing project developed for Turkish Armed Forces, in collaboration with two major defence firms in Turkey. This project aimed automatic classification of satellite and aerial imagery. I have developed number of algorithms for detection of various targets using image processing and machine learning techniques. As of April 2014, I have relocated to TU Delft in order to pursue a Ph.D. degree. Currently, I am working with my supervisor Dr. Hayley Hung for developing automatic methods to interpret human interactions and behaviour by utilising different type of sensor modalities. My current research focuses on automatic analysis of accelerometer signals to detect individual and group social patterns and behaviours. The ultimate goal of these studies can be defined as creating socially aware machines.
